Our communities are:
RELATIONAL. WE'RE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO BE HUMAN LIKE JESUS WAS HUMAN, TOGETHER.
INTER-GENERATIONAL. WE VALUE BEING IN RELATIONSHIP WITH PEOPLE IN OTHER PHASES OF LIFE.
SELFLESS. WE SEEK TO GIVE RELATIONSHIP RATHER THAN CONSUME IT.
The desire for intimate relationship is everywhere in all cultures because it is embedded into how we've been created. From the local coffee shop, to social networking sites, country clubs or sports teams, we all have an innate desire to belong. The question is not, "Will we engage in community?" Instead we ask, "What type of community will we engage in?"
There are many passages that serve as a foundation for our communities, but a few you may consider looking up are: John 13:35; Hebrews 10:23-25; 2 Corinthians 5:14-20; Acts 2:44-47
The feel of each of our communities is a bit different, but all are driven by a set of values that we desire to be "the norm" for our church. By consistently being together over time we develop deeper and truly meaningful relationships. And its out of the relationships we build that expressions of bible study, prayer and service opportunities form.
